Welcome to the Nature Across Canada Newsletter.
I’ll be keeping you up to date on future and past adventures, mostly focusing on Canada.
I’ve been very fortunate over the last several years to travel across Canada leading small groups from Coast to Coast. It has been one of the joys of my life to share the beauty of Canada up close, so I would like to share it with you. Maybe one day you can join me on one of our many magical adventures.
The scenery, wildlife and people in our vast country is what makes it all worthwhile.
We are very lucky to live in this uncrowded country. As countries go, Canada is one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world. Sixty percent of Canadians live in the corridor from Windsor to Quebec City with approximately 90 percent of Canadians living within 250 kilometres of the United States Border.
So, once you get outside of the highly populated urban areas you will leave traffic jams behind you and the wide-open road becomes a much friendlier place.
Many Canadians, especially during the snowy and colder months will take themselves away for a week or two to a warm weather all-inclusive resort in Cuba, Dominican Republic, or some other tropical destination where you can relax near a pool or the ocean.
I can honestly say there is nothing wrong with that. But I’m here to inspire more Canadians to visit the extraordinary country that we live in. It may be more expensive to travel at home, but the treasures that await you will only deepen your love of Canada.
During my travels through Canada, it is common to meet many more foreign people exploring Canada than actual Canadians. You can walk down the street in Whitehorse and hear Germans, Australians, French and many other languages of visitors that have come to experience that wildness of our country. I always feel a little sad that there is not more Canadian’s vacationing in their own country.
From Toronto to get to Whitehorse, it takes a minimum of two flights. But unbelievably, there is a direct (non-stop) flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Whitehorse, Yukon. I find that pretty wild. Germans love Canada!
So hopefully I can convey the beauty of our country through this blog and inspire more people to visit our country. Not just Canadians, but people from all over the world.
Thanks for reading and please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you thought.
