The Magic of the Aurora Borealis
Thanks for subscribing to my new blog. Thanks for all the kind feedback on the first one. It’s very much appreciated.
Today’s blog will focus on the Aurora Borealis.
So many people that I meet tell me that one of their dreams is to witness the Aurora Borealis aka the Northern Lights. We can make that dream come true for you.
We have been very fortunate to see the Aurora Borealis every time we have travelled to the far north.
It really is a mind-blowing spectacle to see the brilliance of the Aurora Borealis erupt before your eyes and we have seen the Aurora every time we have traveled to the far north.
More than a few times we have done the Aurora Happy Dance.

You can see the Aurora in Ontario with good timing, but when we are in the Yukon or the Northwest Territories, we are almost guaranteed to see them.
There are many legends from across the world of what the Aurora Borealis signified in their culture. Some are humorous, some are a little dark.
The Inuit believed that it was the spirits of their dead relatives and friends playing a game of ball using the head of a walrus. The Cree believed it was spirits of the dead attempting to communicate with their earth-bound relatives. Chinese legends say the lights were caused by the dragons breathing fire as they were fighting a war between good and evil. Japanese legends believe a child conceived under the lights will bring good fortune, wealth and good looks! In Italy, France and England where the lights are a rare event, they were not happy to see the lights as they believed it was a bad omen for the future causing anything from famine to war or strife of some kind. But whatever the legend is and there are many more legends out there, it is always magical to witness the Aurora Borealis explode before your very eyes.
As of now the sun is entering its most active phase called the solar maximum, which creates more solar flares which then leads to more auroras hitting the earth.
The trips are planned for the darkest days of the month so that our Aurora experience is enhanced and puts us in the perfect position to see the lights! With such low ambient light, the stars, milky way and the aurora will all shine.
So please consider joining us for a trip to see the Aurora Borealis.
